RPX Thermal Viewer
Plug in the camera. See it live.
A desktop viewer for the RPX Technologies EmbIR640 thermal camera. It finds the camera on USB, streams 640×480 at 30 fps, and gives you the raw and processed 16-bit data, palettes, recording and camera health in one window.

What it does
Everything you need to evaluate and integrate the camera.
Live at 30 fps, no setup
The viewer finds the camera on USB and starts streaming. It talks to the camera's serial interface directly, so there are no drivers to install and no webcam permissions to grant.
Cooked or raw
Switch between the camera-corrected 16-bit stream, raw 16-bit sensor data for your own processing, and the camera's own 8-bit and color output.

Palettes and contrast
Fifteen palettes for the 16-bit streams, including RPX's Iron, with a color bar, the display range and an adjustable contrast clip. The camera's own palettes are one click away too.
Recording that keeps the data
Screenshots save as PNG and clips as MP4, each with a NumPy file holding the full-precision pixel values of every frame, ready for analysis in Python.
Camera health at a glance
Camera and sensor serial numbers, firmware and hardware revision, sensor temperature, frame rate, USB data rate, and dropped frames.
Pixel readout
Hover anywhere on the image to read that pixel's value. Values are the camera's processed counts, not calibrated temperatures.
Built for engineers integrating the camera
Use it to bring up a new camera, check the link and image quality on the bench, and record test data before the camera goes into a payload or product. Need the same thing inside your own software, or a camera integrated into a UAV payload? Tell us about the project.
