Terms of Service

Part A — Website

A.1 Our content. The text, images, drawings, photographs, code samples, and case studies on our website belong to Pathfinder Labs or are used with permission. Photographs credited to NASA GSFC are NASA images used under NASA's media guidelines. You may view the website and link to it. You may not republish our content commercially, remove credits, or present it as your own.

A.2 Case studies and performance figures. Figures on our website (for example mass or stiffness improvements and design-cycle times) describe the specific parts and projects named next to them. They are not a promise that any future part, workflow, or engagement will achieve the same result. Results depend on requirements, loads, materials, and manufacturing choices that we can only assess in a specific engagement.

A.3 No engineering advice through the website. Nothing on our website is engineering advice for your project, and nothing on it creates an engagement. We provide engineering and development services only under a signed agreement (Part C).

A.4 Contact form. When you submit our contact form, we use what you send to respond to you and to scope a possible engagement. We deliver submissions to ourselves through service providers named in the Privacy Statement. Please do not submit sensitive personal information, export-controlled technical data, or anything you consider confidential through the form; use it to start a conversation, and we will set up an appropriate channel (including a signed NDA if you want one) before you send technical material.

A.5 Third-party links and names. Our website links to third-party sites (for example LinkedIn, the Synera Marketplace, and Protolabs). We are not responsible for their content or practices. See § F.4 for how we use third-party names and marks.

Part B — Software (Synera add-ins)

B.1 What the Software is. The Software consists of add-ins that run inside your own installation of the Synera engineering platform on your Windows PC (and, where a product supports it, in headless execution environments you, your organization, or Synera operate, such as Synera Run). Product-specific terms are in Schedule 1. The Software connects only to services you choose to connect it to (for example your mail provider or Slack workspace); it does not send your content, credentials, or usage data to Pathfinder Labs, and it contacts no Pathfinder Labs server for any purpose.

B.2 License. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, worldwide license to install and use the Software, for your internal business use or your personal engineering use, on computers and execution environments that you or your organization own, control, or use under a Synera license — including headless runs on Synera Run or similar environments operated by or for you. You may make reasonable backup copies. Updates we provide are covered by this license.

B.3 What you may not do. You may not: copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Software except as this license or applicable law expressly allows; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble it except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction; rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, or otherwise transfer it; remove or alter proprietary notices; circumvent any technical limitation in it; or use it in violation of applicable law or of the Synera platform terms or the terms of any service you connect it to.

B.4 Licensing and fees through Synera; no support obligation. The Software is distributed through the Synera Marketplace and licensed to you under Synera's token-based licensing. Any fees for using the Software are charged by Synera GmbH under its terms, not by Pathfinder Labs; we charge no separate fee, and questions about billing, tokens, or refunds go to Synera. We may provide updates, documentation, and support, but we are not obligated to, and we may modify or discontinue any product or feature at any time. Some updates may be needed for the Software to keep working when a third-party platform or provider changes; you may decline an update, but the Software may then stop working.

B.5 Your accounts, credentials, and systems. The Software uses credentials and authorizations that you create with third-party providers (for example a Microsoft 365 account or a Slack workspace). Those credentials are stored on your PC as described in the Privacy Statement. We cannot see, recover, reset, or revoke them. You are responsible for the security of the computers on which you install the Software, for keeping backups of data the Software accesses, and for revoking provider access when you stop using a product (the Privacy Statement explains how).

B.6 Workflow files that carry credentials. Synera saves the state of the nodes in a workflow inside the workflow (.syn) file. For Synera Email that state includes the credentials a connection node holds — the OAuth tokens and client identifiers of a signed-in Outlook connection, and any app-specific password you type into an iCloud or Zoho node — so that the workflow can run unattended; they are stored in the file unencrypted. A workflow file that has been used with a signed-in connection must therefore be protected like any credential: store it only in access-controlled locations, do not share or publish it, and use the node's Sign Out or Reauthenticate control to clear the saved credential before you hand the file to anyone. You are solely responsible for such files and for revoking the underlying authorization if a file is lost or exposed. The Privacy Statement describes this behaviour in more detail.

B.7 What you send through the Software. You are responsible for the content you send using the Software (for example email messages or Slack posts and images), for connecting only accounts and workspaces you are authorized to use, and for complying with laws and provider rules that apply to your messages — including anti-spam laws such as the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act, Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, and EU ePrivacy rules, and any confidentiality, data-handling, or export-control restrictions that apply to the material you transmit. You must not use the Software to send unsolicited bulk email, phishing or fraudulent messages, malware, or content that infringes others' rights.

B.8 Open-source components. The Software includes open-source components under their own licenses, listed in Schedule 2. Those licenses govern those components, and nothing in these Terms limits the rights they grant you. We include the required license notices with each product.

B.9 Government users. The Software and its documentation are "commercial computer software" and "commercial computer software documentation" as those terms are used in FAR 12.212 and DFARS 227.7202. U.S. Government end users acquire them under these Terms, with only the rights granted to all other users.

Part C — Engineering and development services

C.1 Services are provided only under a signed agreement. Our engineering, design, automation, AI-tooling, and custom add-in development services are provided under a written agreement signed by you and Pathfinder Labs — typically a non-disclosure agreement, a master services agreement, and a statement of work. Those signed documents govern the engagement: the scope, deliverables, acceptance criteria, ownership of deliverables, confidentiality, data handling, any use of third-party AI tools, export-control responsibilities, fees, warranties, and liability.

C.2 How signed agreements and these Terms relate. For anything covered by a signed agreement, that agreement controls over these Terms. These Terms never grant us any right in your content, files, or technical data (see Part D); any license we need to perform an engagement is granted only in the signed agreement, only for that engagement, and only to the extent needed to do the work.

C.3 Software built for you. If we develop a custom add-in or other software for you, ownership, marketplace publishing rights, and support are set out in the signed agreement. Absent a signed agreement, no custom development is undertaken.

Part D — Your content and intellectual property

D.1 You own your content. You own your CAD models, drawings, specifications, requirements, test data, workflow files, email and message content, and every other file or piece of information you create or use with the Software or provide to us ("Your Content"). These Terms do not give Pathfinder Labs any license to Your Content. The Software processes Your Content on your own computer; we never receive it through the Software.

D.2 Content shared with us directly. If you email us or send us files for support, for a quote, or in an engagement, we use that material only for that purpose (see § E.1 on confidentiality and Part C on engagements). We do not use it to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell or share it.

D.3 Pathfinder Labs' intellectual property. The Software, its documentation, our website content, and our trademarks (including "Pathfinder Labs" and our product names and logos) belong to Pathfinder Labs and its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Apart from the licenses expressly granted in these Terms, we reserve all rights. You may refer to our products by name to identify them; you may not use our marks in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation.

Part E — Confidentiality and feedback

E.1 Support and pre-engagement material. Information you send us for support or to discuss a possible engagement is treated as confidential: we use it only to help you or to scope the work, we do not disclose it to others except our service providers who need it to deliver our email and website (named in the Privacy Statement) or where the law requires, and we delete it on request. This is a limited undertaking; if you need broader protection, ask us for a signed non-disclosure agreement before sending technical material.

E.2 Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback about the Software or our website, you allow us to use it without restriction or payment. Feedback does not include Your Content or your confidential information — sending us a workflow, drawing, or dataset to illustrate a problem is not a grant of any right in it.

Part F — Third-party platforms, providers, and names

F.1 Synera. The Software runs on the Synera platform, which is provided by Synera GmbH under its own terms, and is distributed and licensed through the Synera Marketplace under Synera's token-based licensing (see § B.4). Your use of Synera and of the Marketplace is governed by Synera's terms.

F.2 Connected providers. The Software connects, at your direction, to third-party services such as Microsoft 365, Slack, and — when we release that capability — Google/Gmail, as well as any mail server you configure manually. Your use of those services is governed by their providers' terms and privacy policies. We are not a party to your relationship with any provider, and we are not responsible if a provider changes, limits, or withdraws an interface or revokes access.

F.3 Slack app. You create and own the Slack app that Slack Connector uses (from the manifest the add-in generates) in your own Slack workspace. You are responsible for its configuration, for the workspaces and channels you connect it to, and for complying with Slack's API terms. Pathfinder Labs does not own or operate a Slack app and holds no Slack tokens.

F.4 Names and marks of others. Synera, Slack, Microsoft, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Google, Gmail, Apple, iCloud, Zoho, Onshape, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, NASA, Protolabs, Heli-Coil, Keensert, TimeSert, KATO, CherryMAX, Recoil, and other names and logos used on our website or in the Software are the property of their respective owners. We use them only to identify the platforms, services, standards, and products our Software and services work with or refer to. Their use does not imply that those organizations sponsor, endorse, or are affiliated with Pathfinder Labs, except where we say so expressly.

Part G — Engineering-output limitations, warranties, and liability

G.1 The Software is a tool; you verify the results. Our Software helps you create geometry, drawing content, and automated communications. It does not replace engineering judgment, analysis, testing, or review. You are responsible for verifying any geometry, dimensions, callouts, tolerances, materials, or data produced or transmitted by the Software against the governing drawing, standard, specification, and certification requirements for your product before you rely on it, release it, or manufacture from it.

G.2 Hole Wizard specifically. Hole Wizard generates fastener-hole geometry and drawing callouts from tables transcribed from the published standards and manufacturer catalogs listed in Schedule 1. Standards and catalogs change, editions differ, the add-in does not record which edition each value was taken from, and your program may require different values. Generated features and callouts are engineering inputs for your review, not certified or approved designs.

G.3 Not for critical processes. Synera Email and Slack Connector transport information; they can be delayed, blocked by a provider, or fail. Do not rely on them as the only means of delivering safety-relevant or time-critical engineering information, and independently confirm delivery and content where it matters.

G.4 Not professional engineering services. Use of the Software and the website does not create an engineer–client relationship and is not the provision of professional engineering services. Engineering services are provided only under a signed agreement (Part C).

G.5 Disclaimer of warranties. THE SOFTWARE AND THE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE OR WEBSITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL WORK WITH ANY THIRD-PARTY PLATFORM OR PROVIDER WITHOUT INTERRUPTION.

G.6 Limitation of liability. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (a) WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SOFTWARE, THE WEBSITE, OR THESE TERMS; AND (b) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SOFTWARE, THE WEBSITE, OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS WE RECEIVED ON ACCOUNT OF YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE (WHETHER PAID BY YOU TO US OR PAID TO US BY SYNERA IN RESPECT OF YOUR USE) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).

G.7 What we do not limit. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection laws where you are a consumer. Where a limitation above cannot apply in full, it applies to the greatest extent the law allows.

G.8 Indemnity. If a third party brings a claim against Pathfinder Labs because of (a) content you sent using the Software, (b) your use of the Software in violation of these Terms or the law, or (c) your loss or disclosure of a workflow file carrying credentials, you will defend us against that claim and pay resulting damages and reasonable attorneys' fees, provided that we notify you promptly, let you control the defense (we may participate at our own expense), and cooperate reasonably. This indemnity does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own breach of these Terms.

Part H — General terms

H.1 Term and termination. These Terms apply for as long as you use the website or Software. You may stop at any time by uninstalling the Software, deleting its local data folder where it has one (Schedule 1 lists them), clearing saved credentials from your workflow files, and revoking any provider authorizations. We may end your license if you materially breach these Terms and, where a cure is possible, do not cure within 30 days of notice. Because the Software runs on your own computer, ending the license does not remove it; you agree to stop using it. Parts D, E, G, and H survive termination.

H.2 Discontinuation. We may retire a product or feature. Where practical we will give notice on our website or in the product; because the Software runs locally, a retired product may keep working until a platform or provider change stops it.

H.3 Export and sanctions. You will comply with export-control and sanctions laws that apply to you, and you confirm that you are not located in, organized under the laws of, or ordinarily resident in a country or territory subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions and are not a person on a U.S. government restricted-party list. You are responsible for the export status of content you transmit using the Software.

H.4 Governing law and disputes. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, the website, or the Software will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and each of us consents to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. If you are a consumer, nothing in this section takes away protections of the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live.

H.5 Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with a new date and version number and keep prior versions available. For a change that materially reduces your rights or increases your obligations, we will present the new Terms for acceptance in the Software (for example on next launch), on the Synera Marketplace, or on our website before it applies to you; for other changes, the new version applies when posted. Each version records what changed.

H.6 Notices. Notices to us go to the email address in § 1.1; we will provide a postal address for service of legal process on request. Notices to you may be given in the Software, on the Synera Marketplace listing, on our website, or to an email address you have given us, and are effective when sent or posted.

H.7 Order of precedence. If a signed agreement between you and us conflicts with these Terms, the signed agreement controls for its subject. Schedule 1 controls over the body of these Terms for the product it describes. The Synera platform terms and your providers' terms govern your relationship with those parties, not with us.

H.8 Miscellaneous. These Terms, with Schedules 1 and 2, are the entire agreement between you and us about the website and the Software. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, reorganization, or sale of the business, and will post notice if we do. There are no third-party beneficiaries. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These Terms are written in English; translations are for convenience only.

Schedule 1 — Products

Each product below is licensed under Part B. The product-specific statements here are kept accurate at each release; the version they describe is noted.

1. Hole Wizard for Synera

• Version described: 1.1.2.
• What it does: generates fastener-hole geometry and drawing callouts (ASME Y14.5 symbology) inside a Synera workflow — clearance holes, tapped holes, threaded-insert holes, and rivet holes — from tables embedded in the add-in.
• Sources of the embedded tables: thread and clearance data transcribed from ISO 261, ISO 262, ISO 965, ISO 273, ISO 68-1, ISO 4762, ASME B1.1, and ASME B18.2.8; blind-rivet data from ISO 15983 and ISO 15984; solid and blind-rivet designations AN470/MS20470, AN426/MS20426, NAS1738/NAS1739/NAS1740, MIL-R-47196, and AMS-R-6535; helical-insert designations NAS1130, MS21209/NASM21209, MS122076-series, and NASM8846; and threaded-insert drill diameters transcribed from the published catalogs of KATO, Heli-Coil, Keensert, and TimeSert. The add-in does not record the edition or year of any standard or catalog it was transcribed from. Verify every value against the edition your program requires (§ G.2).
• Data: Hole Wizard makes no network connection, contacts no account, sends nothing to Pathfinder Labs, and writes nothing to disk. Its tables change only when a new version is released.
• Local data folder: none.
• Your responsibility: §§ G.1–G.2. Verify every generated feature and callout against your governing drawing, tolerance, material, and certification requirements before release or manufacture.

2. Slack Connector for Synera

• Version described: 1.1.0.
• What it does: sends messages, reactions, and images from Synera workflows to Slack and receives mentions, direct messages, and text commands over an outbound Slack Socket Mode connection.
• Slack app and scopes: you create and own the app from the manifest the add-in generates (§ F.3). The manifest requests the bot scopes chat:write, reactions:write, files:write, channels:read, groups:read, users:read, channels:history, groups:history, im:history, app_mentions:read, im:read, and im:write, and you generate an app-level token with connections:write. With the history scopes the app receives every message in the channels and conversations it has been added to; add it only where your workflows need it.
• Data: the bot token, app-level token, and app credentials are stored on your PC at %LOCALAPPDATA%\Synera\SlackConnector\, encrypted with the Windows Data Protection API (workspace names and IDs are stored there unencrypted); message content is handled in memory to serve the node that requested it and is not written to disk or logs by the add-in; a channel-listing node saves the channel names and IDs it fetched in your workflow file. The add-in contacts only Slack.
• Local data folder: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Synera\SlackConnector\.
• Your responsibility: connect only workspaces and channels you are authorized to use; comply with Slack's terms; § G.3.

3. Synera Email

• Version described: 1.0.3.
• What it does: sends email (SMTP) and reads mailboxes (IMAP/POP3) from Synera workflows, including attachments produced by upstream nodes, with support for unattended execution.
• Providers: Microsoft 365 and personal Microsoft accounts via OAuth (scopes SMTP.Send, IMAP.AccessAsUser.All, POP.AccessAsUser.All, and offline_access, through an app registration held by Pathfinder Labs); iCloud and Zoho with app-specific passwords; any other provider through a manual SMTP/IMAP/POP3 connection. Google/Gmail is not available in this version; § F.2 applies when it is released.
• Data: OAuth tokens and manual-connection passwords are stored on your PC under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Synera\SyneraEmail\, encrypted with the Windows Data Protection API; mail content is handled in memory to serve the node that requested it and is not written to disk or logs by the add-in. Connections use TLS by default (the provider presets and the "Use SSL" setting default to on); if you turn "Use SSL" off for a manual connection, the add-in connects to an SMTP server without encryption and to an IMAP or POP3 server with STARTTLS only if the server offers it. Credentials held by connection nodes are saved unencrypted in the workflow file — see § B.6. The add-in contacts only the mail and identity servers of the providers you connect.
• Local data folder: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Synera\SyneraEmail\.
• Your responsibility: §§ B.6–B.7; § G.3.

Schedule 2 — Open-source components

The components below are included in or used by the Software under the licenses shown; the full license texts are distributed with each product. Components of the Synera platform itself and of the .NET runtime are licensed by Synera GmbH and Microsoft under their own terms.

Hole Wizard for Synera (1.1.2): no third-party components.

Slack Connector for Synera (1.1.0): System.Drawing.Common 8.0.0 (MIT); System.Security.Cryptography.ProtectedData 8.0.0 (MIT); Microsoft.Win32.SystemEvents 8.0.0 (MIT). These are provided by the .NET runtime on your PC and are not redistributed inside the add-in package.
